Mc Sorley's Ale House

posted by pelinor on 16 November 2010 at 17:22

This is the oldest continuously operating bar in New York, dating back to the mid 19th century. In fact, it feels much like the mid 19th century inside with a lot of wooden panelling and sawdust covered floors. Given that Abe Lincoln and John Lennon are only two of the many famous figures who have drunk in this pub, it's unsurprising that the walls are absolutely crammed with memorabilia. Ale is all that's served here, pale or dark and there's only one size of glass... but that's all part of the experience I suppose.
