Late Show with David Letterman

This is a hidden gem to do while in New York and it is free. If you know way in advance when you are going to be in New York you can request tickets to see a live taping of David Letterman on the attached link. More than likely you will be rejected. Do not give up hope. It is easy to score some tickets to see Letterman. Simply call the number on this web site at precisely 11 am on the day you want to go. Call at 10:59 and you will just get a busy signal. Later in the hour and you will be shut out. From 11 to about 11:15 you call that number and answer a trivia question about the show. Mine was what color is the announcers hair (red). If you answer correctly they tell you to go to the studio at a specific time and you are given a number. When you get there you are put in line by number order after you have shown your ID that proves you are supposed to be there. Even if you answer the question wrong you will be given a number just put later in the line. Almost everybody on line gets in. Just call early and you will get a low number. Wear something warm because the studio is freezing.
