Madison Square

By far and away my favourite bit of New York. The architecture, the shops and the wonderful park all combine to make it the ideal spot for a bit of sightseeing, chilling out, or just for grabbing lunch in the thick of it.

The High Line

Wonderful innovation and totally sympathetic urban planning makes for a pretty special spot to go for a walk. This disused railway line has been made into a park and is a lush sliver of green in the urbanised area.

Bryant Park

I love city breaks but often find that it's hard to relax so i was so pleased to find this park, right in the centre of things, that I could pop into for a stroll and sit and eat my lunch, we were lucky that our hotel was so close to it.

Really lovely park in Greenwich Village, with the uni nearby. Feels really culturaly diverse and it's a great spot for reading, picnicking or just some good ol' fashioned people watching.

Central Park

Central park provides a refuge away from the maddness of midtown Manhattan and the neighbouring suburbs. I went with a group of friends on a alzy Sunday and sat in sunshine watching a local league of baseball alongside families flying kites. Certainly worth a walk around as there are many different parts within the 843 acres.
