This iconic building was top of my must-do list when I went to New York. Yes, the crowds were pretty bad, and it's not cheap, but you can't miss it, can you?

It's what you think of when you imagine going to New York and it's really sweet to finally get up close to the lady. I knew she was tall, but really, she's HUGE! We climbed up to the top of the crown and were exhausted but exhilarated. RESERVE TICKETS IN ADVANCE, we spoke to quite a few disappointed people who'd wanted to go up but hadn't sorted it our beforehand.

So iconic, and so exciting to finally go! We booked our tickets online so we didn't really have to queue and it was so cool to be there. The views are so amazing I could have stood there all day just gawping!

The Tram to Roosevelt Island takes you parallel to Queensborough Bridge suspended hundreds of feet in the air. You get incredible views and not the same views that every tourist gets from the top of the empire state building, but views over real houses and appartment blocks, a rather intimate view of day to day life in New York. And all for under $3

At first glance it could be the famous disney castle as a flag flutters from its pointed tip! On top of vista rock, this stone castle really catches the eye, and the views from the nature observatory and tower are great, just mind your step on the castle's winding staircase!
