This is a rich place full of history. Originally a monastery, then it was the home of the poet, Byron. The grounds are spectacular and the whole place takes you back to medieval times.

This sounds boring, but for our group, it was really interesting and fun. We have a family of knitters, and my mother remembered some of the knitting history. It is only open in the spring, but it is reasonably priced and very educational.
