Xavier Xandev Museum

My sister is big on Christian art and she made me come here. Some of the same themes as you always see (of course) but actually a thoroughly enjoyable place with some great pieces.

Paloloem Beach

It's really worth seeking out the more secluded and under populated beaches of Goa as the incessant hasstle you get on the well known ones can get very tiresome. Palolem Beach is really pretty, the waves aren't to strong, the sand is really fine and white and the palm trees are beautiful. Give it a go!

Ashwem Beach

This is a beautiful little beach about 30 minutes away from the well known spots like Calangute. One of the things I loved about this beach aside from how relatively untouvhed it is, is the fact that you can walk 100 metres out to sea with out getting any higher than your waist wet. I'd never seen such a shallow beach. Definitely come to avoid crowds.

Leela

posted by drobinson on 2 February 2011 at 12:12

We went to Goa in the off season and I kept feeling guilty like I was robbing people purely because it was all so ridiculously cheap. THe Leela was wonderful, we hyad it almost to ourselves and enjoyed excellent service, some of the best food I've ever had and a beautiful tropical garden environs. I can imagine that in peak season the prices are probably quite heinous but it was fantastically cheap off season.

Dudh Sagar

The waterfalls at Dudh Sagar are amongst the highest in India. They are 300 m high and you get some incredible views from the top. Because of the huge wight of water, the land around the falls is very fertile and green and their are plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting.
