Charles Bridge

This was my second trip to Prague and we decided to get up at dawn and go for a look around before all the other tourists got up, and we were handsomely rewarded. Beautiful to see the city without the tourist throng, particularly Charles Bridge, whose charm at that hours was unmatched.

So romantic, my boyfriend and I took a stroll here and around the area on a couple of nights on our holiday and they were so memorable, the overriding memory of my holiday.

It may only be a bridge but I do vote it one of the finest in Europe. Medieval streets line one side with the ancient castle district on the other. Sadly it does get rammed with tourists, touts, performers and souvenir stalls so go as early in the day as possible to avoid the scrum.

I don't believe that a more charming bridge exists anywhere in the world. There's plenty of entertainment to take in from the bridge as well as some phenomenal sunsets.

There's such a pleasant atmosphere in Prague near the castle and the Charles Bridge. The bridge has items for sale by artists from Czech Republic and from other countries, especially the United States, and you can buy artwork and music CD's created by these artists as you walk along the cobblestone bridge that spans over the Vitava River. This is a memorable excursion and you can feast on a souvenir as you are at it. You can also get at shops, fast food and a nightclub or so across the bridge.
