The Powder Gate dates back as far as the 11th century - though I'm not sure when its current incarnation dates from. It sits at the start of the royal route and is an entrance to the Old Town. The views from the 44 metre high viewing platform are absolutely wonderful. Like other old buildings around Prague, the spidery Gothic facade is emphasised by a coating of soot!

The first time I toured Prague, I was shocked to see a familiar structure, if slightly smaller than I had seen it before, the Eiffel Tower. Apparently, for the Prague Exposition of 1891, they built a smaller version of the famous Parisian landmark. I really enjoyed climbing up to the top of it for a beautiful panoramic view of the city.

This place is one of the many restaurants in Prague that offer traditional Czech dishes. What distinguishes this restaurant from the other is its location from which you can enjoy the view of the entire city. The food is excellent and tasty, but you will have to overcome the language barrier because the staff does not speak English. The dishes are prepared in the traditional way,and served accordingly in old-fashioned plates.
