I don't think a trip to Rhodes would really be complete without getting lost for several hours in the beautiful Old Town. It is one of the oldest surviving medieval towns in the world but has elements which date back much further. Go in through the Eleftheria gate, see the ruins in the Simi square and make sure you spend some time on the Street of the Knights. Other than that, revel in your inability to get your bearings and make sure you stop for a traditional meal in one of the Old Town's many diners.

I think Lindos is ann absolute must for anyone visiting Rhodes. Its a site of great antiquity and of incredible beauty. After a steep ascent you'll get to the Acropolis which has beautiful sweeping views of the Aegean. Some of the buildings on the Acropolis date back to the 4th century BC. The doric temple of Athena Lindia and the enormous staircase of the propylae are both highlights.

If you can manage a really arduous ascent, the Monolithos castle is a real highlight of Rhodes. The architecture is unspectacular but the views are amazing and the extremely precarious position on the jagged cliff top is something to be witnessed

This place is really neat- like nothing I've ever seen before. The museum is located in the medieval 'Hospital of the Knights' building. The collections include many tombs, Roman sculpture, mosaics, and funerary slabs. The collection is beautiful. It's historically and aesthetically interesting.
