The oldest church in Rome, and perhaps the world (??) it's absolutely beautiful with artwork and frescoes and mosaics to match the best i've ever seen.

This is a lovely place to go to. The gardens are really beautifyul and well kept and make a great break after the heat of the city before heading into the villa to do battle with the incredible collection of modern art there. There are works by every Italian artist you would expect to see at such a prestigious art gallery. There is also a fantastic gallery of modern art housed here as well. Well worth the queues.

This is a really majestic church on the Piazza Navone. We just stopped here to get out of the Sun on a hot day but ended up spending quite a while looking at the sculptures and paintings inside.

The art galleries in Rome are endless and it's hard to know which one to prioritise. If you can only choose one, make it this. Home to a notorious private art collection, it provides the perfect introduction to Renaissance and baroque art.

I suppose we should thank Mussolini for the incredible approach to St Peter's. Its an amazing experience and culminates in an amazingly beautiful and lavish interior. It's definitely worth battling the masses to see it.
