I'd been here about 12 years ago and whilst I'd been impressed with the collection, the place was lacking a certain something. Today though, with the stunning new building, it's all come together wonderfully. Great way to spend your morning.

Visiting San Francisco for a conference I found myself gravitating here to get away from all the shop talk and have a minute to myself. The resemblance of the imposing building Hotel Des Invalides in Paris, might be part of it, but also its tenacity in the face of earthquakes too.
