Two Oceans Aquarium

posted by ashleyhotmama on 3 July 2009 at 21:55

Located in Cape Town, South Africa, the Two Oceans Aquarium offers seven exhibition galleries with big viewing windows. The aquarium opened on November 13, 1995 and it houses more than 300 marine species. If certified, it's also possible to scuba dive with the ragged tooth sharks. They also have an onsite restaurant called the Bayfront Blue and a souvenir shops that sells related books and books. This is really a great place to visit to experience many different kinds of life.

Cretaquarium Thalassocosmos

posted by DVC_Chris on 29 May 2009 at 12:58

When my wife was at the spa on Crete, I decided to take the children to the Cretaquarium Thalassocosmos, one of the premier aquariums in all of Greece. Since it is only a few years old, everything is very well done, and you can tell they designed it right. Unlike many other aquariums I have visited in the past, this one does not specialize in the fish of the ocean, but rather the inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea, which was a nice twist.

Zoo Aquarium de la Casa de Campo

posted by DVC_Chris on 27 May 2009 at 01:13

We wanted to find something fun to do with the kids when we were in Madrid, so we went to the Zoo Aquarium de la Campo. The kids had a great time seeing all of the different exhibits, especially the Giant Pandas. Plus when it got too warm, we went indoors into the aquarium to continue the tour and cool down.

Miami SeaQuarium

posted by DVC_Chris on 6 May 2009 at 01:53

When I visited Miami as a kid, the one memory that really stands out is the Miami SeaQuarium. I visited a few aquariums in my day, but the name really stuck in my head, as did my swimming with the dolphin encounter. There are also tons of great exhibits, and cool shows.

Dubai Mall Aquarium

This is the biggest aquarium in the world, at least that is what they say. There are a huge amount of fish and sharks in the aquarium present. It is located in the middle of the Dubai Mall. In the basin there are more then 30000 species of sea life. It is not open for diving. ;-)
