In most other cities this would be a major sight but in Venice we had it practically to ourselves. A gorgeous building, decorated inside by Titoretto, there's so many fabulous paintings your mind boggles!

For about 8 euros you can get a whole day bus ticket allowing to explore the villages of Volendam, Marken and Edam which are located near to Amsterdam. They are really beautiful, traditional old Dutch villages and are relatively unspoilt.

Old Goa is a weird little ghost town of a place. It rightly earned it's world heritage status for the high concentration of Portuguese colonial buildings built here including lots of churches and monasteries. It's only a couple of kilometres from Panaji which means it was an easy daytrip for us whilst we were staying there.

Sinarades is a really beautiful village in the middle west of Corfu . It's one of the larger villages that we went through on the island but is still very traditional traditional, with an old fashioned style of life and architecture. We stopped for a coffee in Stellios's Taverna and weht to the Aerostatos viewing point for incredible views of the coast. A really nice detour.

If this one looks familiar to Londoners then you're right, as it was based on Somerset House! The building looks impressive from the outside as well as the inside, which we saw on our guided tour which was informative and interesting. The best bit I learned was that the gold dome wsa painted black during WWII to protect it.
