Absolutely exquisite outside and in. the patterned brickwork, the domes, the arches, i just love the moorish-byzantine style and this was the best place i went on my holiday in budapest.

My husband and I found this crazy visit on a late-afternoon wander and had to go it! The surprises kept coming with sculptures, great ironworks and the paintings in the lounge of the mirrors. A great find we've been trying to tell everyone about!

I'll admit, it's not that much to look at from the outside, but inside it opens up into a sumputous world with arabic mosaics and a marble staircase. A great place to wander around (any maybe imagine living in but i guess that bit's up to you) and take some surprising pictures to show your friends!

The Powder Gate dates back as far as the 11th century - though I'm not sure when its current incarnation dates from. It sits at the start of the royal route and is an entrance to the Old Town. The views from the 44 metre high viewing platform are absolutely wonderful. Like other old buildings around Prague, the spidery Gothic facade is emphasised by a coating of soot!

Frank Gehry's dancing house is one of the best pieces of modern architecture I've ever seen... or perhaps worst, I'm not sure. Either way, it certainly left an impression. The contrast with the rest of the city- which at times feels chocolate boxy in its antiquity - is quite extraordinary. There is no perspective, no obvious reference and certainly no reverence for the rest of the city. Great!
