This place is quite a testament to the generally culturally confused kitsch of Los Angeles. It was built by Graumann in the 1920s after the success of his Egyptian theatre. In fairness to him it is fairly well engineered and looks almost authentic. Definitely worth a visit for sheer wierdness. Also be sure to check out the footprints of the stars outside!

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this stunning square late at night and were so taken by it we had to go back the next day for a proper daytime look. The buildings there are just fabulous and the museums in the french and german cathedrals are really interesting.

MY sister is an enthusiast of religious buildings so we had to go and see the 'most beautiful synagogue in europe' when we went to prague. it really is lovely and i could have looked at the intricately decoreted interior all day!

The old part of Antalya is a real gem with exciting things to find round almost every corner. I'd suggest taking a day just to wander about and go in wherever takes your fancy. the most popular, and best, entrance is hadrian's gate.

The historical heart of Amsterdam, this pretty square is a great place to grab some food and watch some people as you take a break from your sightseeing schedule. The royal palace and the nieuwe kirk are great places to go once you've been refreshed.

it's easy to get to as quite a few trams go there, or walk straigt down damrak from centraal.
