If you are looking for a fine dining experience while staying in Athens, and are a big fan of seafood, there is no better place to visit in the city than Thalatta. While you usually need a reservation, my hotel was able to get my wife in for a romantic dinner for two, where the quality of the service was only exceeded by the food from the kitchen.

Athens has some great hole in the wall restaurants, and one of my favorites has a name as grand as its food, Alexander the Great. While a little place it has great food that is made from scratch every day, and is very affordable, making it a great place to stop for lunch while touring the city.

Greece has a strong military tradition that is dating back thousands of years, and you can see examples of the armor, weapons, and equipment that they have used throughout its history at the War Museum of Athens. My son really enjoyed seeing all of these great exhibits about Grecian military history, and it tells a lot about the War of Independence.

Whenever I am in Athens, and am looking for a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, I always head to the National Gardens. The setting is so incredibly tranquil, and I love sitting by the duck pond and watching the ducks squabble over scraps of bread. There is also a small zoo which they kids wish was bigger, but enjoy.

The Hilton Athens Hotel is one of the best located hotels in Greece with the major sights in Greece being just walking distances away from the hotel. The rooms are modern and comfortable and kept clean by the house keeping staff. The food was very adequate and the staffs are polite and helpful. Of the various facilities that the hotel provides, the swimming pool is what I enjoyed the most. The hotel is very luxurious and offers for a great stay while in Greece. I definitely recommend this hotel.
