This is one of the largest bazaars in the world and I have to say at one point we were a bit worried we'd never find our way out. Then we found some food and decided just to wander to our heart's content. So much fun!

Great place to go for a stroll and a browse, and maybe even spend some of your hard-earned cash on a souvenir or two, or a present for someone. I bought a lovely pair of trousers and some jewellery that has been the envy of all my friends!

Noise and smells abound here, it's a fully immersive experience and a lot of fun! Be prepared to barter and get stuck in, and don't forget it all has to go in your luggage for the trip home!!

The major souk in the district of Cairo has become a major tourist attraction. The stalls, shop owners, smells, sights are all quite mind blowing, such a different experience to anything in the UK. WE stopped for coffee and shisha which was a lot of fun.

Some of the best shopping we found was in the more historical Kaleici district. Just wondering down through the cobbled streets of the old quarters we were able to find Old Turkish kilims, original gold jewellery, leather products, natural cotton clothing, handmade wooden items as well as traditional Turkish handicrafts. Plus it was a great location for grocery shopping.
