There is so much to do and see in Rome that you need to know to look for this titular church! Why? Mostly because Bernini's marble sculpture St. Teresa in Ecstasy "lives" in the Cornaro Chapel to the left of the altar. This is among the most exquisite of all work by this 17th century master. The spirituality of the representation is nearly palpable, while the artistic details are absolutely breathtaking! Other works in the church include Guidi's Dream of St. Joseph as well as painings by Guercino, Lorrain and Domenichino. Tourism here has increased since the church is featured in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons.
