I just thought this museum was wonderful. My husband had been before, before the renovations, and says it's so much better now. The collection, the displays, the facilities, all great. And the queues a lot smaller too than at some of the other big name places.

One of the more famous religious places of worship in the world is the Hagia Sophia, and every visitor in Istanbul should make the time to go see it. An amazing example of Byzantine architecture, it is breathtakingly beautiful. It is currently a museum, which highlights the awe inspiring history of the building, having served as both a church and a mosque.

When I visited Corfu, one of the museums that really stood out in my mind was the Byzantine Museum, located at the Panagia Antivouniotissa Church. I have always been fascinated with the Byzantine period, and at this museum there are many wonder religious artifacts done in that style, the beauty of it makes it worth the trip.
