After hiking up Montjuic to the castle crowning the top, the quickest way back down is definitely the cable car. Even though there was a half an hour wait to get on (only about 20 passengers can be taken on to the cable car at a time), it was well worth it, since we ended up getting on the cable car around sunset. Needless to say, the view was breath taking. From the wide windows of the car the entire harbour could be seen, with great views of the ocean, the city of Barcelona, La Ramblas and the port on the other side framed by a white beach. Costs 7.50 Euros for the single ticket. Operates daily 11:30am-9pm
