This is one of the highest points in the Algarve and well worth a trip out of the resort. Beautiful views and there was even a lady up there selling the local honey cake which is just to die for!

If you want a trip out then Foia is the best place to go, it's the highest point in the Algarve and so the views can be amazing. As well, the honey cake was the best cake i've ever had. Beware the 'firewater' though!!

Near Monchique, it's about 100km away from Faro so probably a long day or a stayover is best

Always a pleasant meal. Good value and service, nice atmosphere. Great place to bring the family. They have a back room for book club, Bible study groups. Nice wine list.

Totally drawn in by the name of this cafe situated just inside the Daintree Building, it also has a cute outside courtyard where you can enjoy either a sweet or savoury tart with a glass of wine (or cup of tea!)

A really fun and unusual way to get your souvenirs and learn a bit about pottery. Be warned though that some things you can make take a few days to be ready so not a last-ditch trip really. My girls and I really loved this place (and not just the painting, the cake too) and enjoy looking at the things we made now we're back home.

In the town centre, coming from the harbour take the inland road and turn right at the main road
