Cultural History museum is one of the oldest buildings in Cape town. Formerly it was called as Slave lodge since in 1679 it has served as the lodge for slaves of the Dutch Company. Today it was one of the famous tourist spots in South Africa. It contains ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, collection of stamps and weapons of 19th century.

While there are lots of natural wonders to see in Africa, when I visited Cape Town one of the animal attractions that my family enjoyed the most was the World of Birds. In this giant aviary, there are lots of beautiful birds and you can get lots of up close experiences with them.

While not necessarily appropriate for young children, the Slave Lodge in Cape Town, South Africa is a museum that is so moving, that it should not be missed. While experiencing this museum, I learned a lot about the slave trade, and the affects that it had in Africa in general, and Cape Town in particular.

While the city of Cape Town has many historical sites worthy of visit, one afternoon I decided that I wanted to see some of the local wild life, which is why I went to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Not only did I get to see local plants and animals, which while interesting, was not the highlight of my trip. Instead it was going to the actual Cape of Good Hope, and standing on the southern most point in Africa, which I found really neat.

No visit to Cape Town, South Africa can possibly be complete without experience Robben Island. This island, a 25 minute boat ride each way from the city, for centuries help the undesirables of Cape Town, including the prison in which Nelson Mandela was kept during his imprisonment for advocating the end of apartheid. It is a very moving experience seeing the little cell where this extraordinary man spent so much of his life.
