Christ Church Cathedral is located in "medieval" Dublin and is an interesting tourist stop. While Dublin offers a host of interest tourist attractions, a stop at Christ Church Cathedral should definitely be considered. A rather quick stop located near several other attractions (such as the castle), the Cathedral is an interesting stop if only for the fact that it was built around 1030 AD. Full of interesting art, architecture, and sculpture, it offers a nice respite from a full and busy day of sightseeing. It also offers the rather entertaining display of a petrified cat chasing a petrified mouse which were found in the organ. It should be noted, that if you are student, make sure you have your student id, you can get half off admission, which is very helpful if traveling on a budget. In summary, Christ Church Cathedral is not a must see stop if your time in Dublin is limited, but it is a nice addition to one's sightseeing adventure if touring medieval Dublin.

This is one of the most popular tourist attractions, as it presents an historical overview of the formative period of Dublin's history from the arrival of the Anglo-Normans in 1170 to the closure of the monasteries in the 1540s. There are many exhibits here which include videos, models and reconstructions. The ground floor houses a large-scale model of Dublin around 1500. It is directly across from Christ Church, the mother church of the Church of Ireland and dates back to 1038.
