The Abbey is one of my favorite places in all the world: it remains primarily an absolutely glorious worship space offering Holy communion as well as Morning and Evening Prayer daily. Steeped in history, monuments and tombs abound, with many wonderful surprises to discover among the royalty, poets, artists, and others buried here. The inscription at Queen Exlizabeth I's tomb is poignant as is standing in the spot where Thomas a Becket was killed. Walking in the cloisters provides a deep connection with the monastic prayers offered here for centuries, especially when watching the paving stones for the names or stories of monks. Taking time to do brass rubbings, attend services or listen to concerts endears the Abbey to any visitor for its contemporary life as well as its history.

Since april 20, 1912, this baseball stadium has been the home of the Boston Red Sox. It is a fabulous sports venue -- great for rooting for the home team, or visit Fenway Park for a tour. Other events include occasional concerts. There is an annual Red Cross Blood Drive on every September 11th that is very special to take part in.
