Thre's so much to see it's impossible to say everything just that a visit to the capital is a must there's culture, fabulous food (all you veggies like me should go to Kamats by the munucipal garden...heaven), beaches, nightlife, disco river cruises, and i'd recommend taking the car ferry over the river to the small islands to explore.

The Bolshoi Theatre is an incredible venue. If you can see a opera or ballet performance here, you'll certainly not be disappointed. It is unfortunately often closed for restoration as its poor foundations mean that it continually sinks into the earth.

The Lok Virsa museum is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of Pakistani folk culture. It has many examples of embroidery, costumes, metalwork and woodwork and there is a good selection of books available to buy as well as souveneirs.

Like so much of the great old buildings of Frankfurt, you'll have to put up with a modern reconstruction of the Alte Oper. It was largely destroyed during WWII and rebuilt in the '80s. It's still a very attractive building though and has quite a busy concert schedule.

The Belfast Opera House is a fine example of the Victorian penchant for intricate and elaborate decorative flourishes. If this doesn't appeal, a variety of opera, comedy shows and pop concerts might.
