I love rooting around old markets for bargains and it's always better to come back with an unusual souvenir or two. I got hold of some old tankards which are going to look perfect in my kitchen and I'll think of my lovely holiday every time I look at them.

Great market, I was travelling for 6 months and some of my things were on their last legs when I found the market so it was such a treat to get some nice new bits and pieces, and a great souvenir for the trip too.

So busy and bustling, and with plenty of overpriced new items to sift through, but there are some real gems here to be found, especially by way of crockery and smaller furniture items. I love trying to find that bargain amongst the other people and the dross.

On Saturdays, Campo de Santa Clara is the place to be as the city empties its treasures and its junk out into the street for an incredible flea market. Most stuff here is worth nothing at all but a sufficient amount is worth enough to keep you hooked searching for a bargain.

My friends who live in the city recommended this flea market as one of We went to the Skylight One Hanson location on a Sunday, although it is held somewhere else on a Saturday too. Independent stall holders are selling antique jewellery, clothes, artwork and a delicious food hall certainly worth a visit.
