Hotel AC Gran Canaria

The Hotel AC at Gran Canaria was one visit that is the most memorable to me. With the beach and a shopping center just minutes away, it is one of the well located hotels. Plenty of buses were available from a near by road which helped me commute during my stay. The room was well furnished and had a modern look to it. The hotel restaurant is OK but must of my dining was done in the nearby eateries. The staffs were good and were always eager to help. I gladly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

Chipi Chipi

When vacationing in Gran Canaria, one of the great restaurants that my family discovered was Chipi Chipi. In addition to being incredibly fun to say, this restaurant is small, but incredibly cozy and intimate, with a great and tasty menu that’s quality is only surpassed by the friendliness of the restaurant’s staff.

Orillas del Mar

During our last trip to Canaria, we were visiting during my wife’s birthday so I decided to let her pick the restaurant, and she picked Orillas del Mar because of all of the great seafood that she really loves. She especially loves the seafood platter, which has all kinds of types of seafood, including squid. They also had a few non seafood items, which was good for me.

Sioux City

When I was in Gran Canaria, I decided to take the family and head to Sioux City. It is always interesting to see how foreign cultures interpret American Culture, and Sioux City did it in a very interesting manner. The park started out as the set for a spaghetti western, and has grown from there. It is well worth the visit.

Tour round the island

We took a rental car and drove in 1 day round the island. It does not matter so much which company since the prices were not that different. The whole trip via the capital Las Palma and all the way to the North side of the island was very exciting. The Gran Canaria island has very steep mountains and the trip is not long in distance but the slow speed of about 40-60 KM/h gives you enough opportunity to see how the island is and how the people live in the non-touristic areas.
