Nikos Kazantzakis Museum

posted by rheals on 19 January 2011 at 10:11

This museum dedicated to the local hero is really interesting, if on the small side. We stopped in on a drive from Heraklion to Agios Ioannis and loved both the tiny village and the museum. Definitely stop by if you're near it!

Mastihari

Having been to Kos many times and only ever stayed in Kos Town before, we decided to branch out and find somwehere more suited to our late-twenties. Mastihari has great beaches, lovely food and a chilled-out vibe, just what I was after.

Pretty close to the airport, about 4km to the north of it

The Invisible Kitchen

My wife received a firm recommendation to find The Invisible Kitchen whilst on holiday in Corfu. The restaurant is up a hillside between Acharavi and Kassiopi on the north-east coast and has the most exquisite menu that changes every week.

Liston

This friendly greek restaurant prides itself on being one of the oldest on the island, built by the French in 1812. You can sit inside or out, under an awning for the more atmospheric dining experience. Many Corfiote specialities on offer, especially baked veal and salted codfish.

This restaurant is build in a garden filled with lemon trees that give is s it a really nice summer feel to it.The food is cheap and comes in large portions that should be enough even for the very hungry visitors!Be sure to ask the waiter to recommend some nice Greek red wine!
