We were staying near here so liked to come for a stroll in the greenery as often as possible. The outdoor amphitheatre even has shows sometimes, although we were more intersted in heading off to eat some delicious food I have to say!

Nothing to do with golf, which came as a surprise to me, but instead an astonishingly green pool in a volcanic crater! Check out Los Hervideros too, caves and blow holes nearby in the rock formed by lava flows over the years. Be sure to go to the sea-side of these caves to watch the waves crashing in.

I got a totally new perspective on the city by visiting a couple of the islands in the harbour, getting out and stretching my legs whilst enjoying the views and the green spaces. Definitely a great way to spend an afternoon.

I love city holidays because of all the excitement and new things, but every now and then I just like to gat away too, so this is perfect. Some lovely pathways to walk on, a small zoo and a musical fountain all keep yoou interested and the kids entertained. You can even go to the lido for some real relaxation.
