Absa Money Museum

a fascinating place charting the history and study of something close to everyone's heart...money. I particularly enjoyed the early forms of money, when just about anything precious worked. My man couldn't get enough of the bank crimes section!

In the magnificent Bernabeu, this museum is everything you need to know about the iconic football club. I even learned that they have their very own basketball team!!

City Walls/Hadrians Gate

I can't really imagine what it was like to live in a time when cities were walled in for protection, but you can see the might that was needed to invade whan you stand at the huge Hadrian's gate and see the walls! Great to get some history of the place rather than just sunbathe and party (plenty of that too though!!).

Las Palmas

We hadn't intended on spending any time in Las Palmas but just sort of ended up there on our last day. In the end we had a really nice time and were glad that we visited. The Vegueta Old Quarter is lovely, the Cathedral and the Museo Colon are worth seeing. Also, the Playa de las Canteras beach is a fine place for an afternoon beer or cocktail.

Basketball Hall of Fame

This is a good afternoon out. AS you walk in there's a massive court with loads of balls and lots of different basketball hoops from through the ages. Upstairs, the museum continues with exhibits charting the history of the game and the evolution of the equipment used.
