You can get church fatigue quite easily in Rome but I defy anyone not to see the splendour and the beauty of this fine example. It's absolutely huge!

Wow, what an impressive building! So much to see, we were glad we'd bought a great guide book that told us so many details and things to look out for, but we also saw some people on a guided tour which might also be a good way to dig a little deeper.

A very very impressive building! The dome is a feat of engineering and the rest isn't much less spectacular! You have to go on a guided tour and we could only get one in Spanish but that really just meant we could spend ages gawping!

Dodge the fake gladiators and head inside to where the magic is. Just sit and marvel at the sheer size of the engineering feat, this was done without cranes or electricity! I must have a been a fantastic arena.

What a majestic place, somewhere you can really see the riches and the impression it must have made on the average commoner! Just stunning architecture, allow plenty of time to look around.
