A wonderful sheltered beach with lots of coves so you can really feel like you've gor a bit to yourself. The surf here was great most of the week we were on holiday so there was no real need to go anywhere else.

When vacationing in Gran Canaria, one of the great restaurants that my family discovered was Chipi Chipi. In addition to being incredibly fun to say, this restaurant is small, but incredibly cozy and intimate, with a great and tasty menu that’s quality is only surpassed by the friendliness of the restaurant’s staff.

De Klos is a small hole in the wall type of restaurant that you might not think anything of as you walk by. You might get curious as to the line of people waiting outside to get in, which is common. They do not take reservations and have only 4 or 5 dining tables. The rest is counters or to sit at the bar. The bar seating I think is the most enjoyable as the cute bartenders/waiters present the menu on their shirts. It is a simple menu, basically meat, meat, and more meat. Obviously not the place to go if you are a vegetarian. You can get a baked potato LOL. The ribs, the steak and I here the shoulder of lamb are all great food options. The waiters are saucy with a wink and a smile, which adds to the dining experience as long as you take it in the good natured way. Normally, when traveling to a city I try not to dine in the same restaurant during my stay, but this place was so good and enjoyable we went back twice.

When in Scottland you tend to get your fill real quick of "hearty" food. Redwood Restaurant is an oasis from heavy stews, mutton, and if you are really brave haggis. The restaurant is tiny a little over 20 seats. The menu is quite diversified and changes all the time, so if you go back wanting to have what you had the last time you were there, its probably not going to happen. The food is fresh, light and unpretentious. The service is pleasant as well. Lots of vegetarian options, many Mexican inspired offerings as well.
