We were just driving about looking for the black sand beaches when we came across this spectacular place. Los Hervideros, of the Boiling Pots, is where the lava met the sea and there are loads of blowholes that the sea goes into and spurts out of. The beauty of nature is a great thing!

Totally facinating. These caves used to be used as a hideout for inhabitants and I can only imagine how scary they were since even brightly lit today it gets a bit eerie in places! Really beautiful, but not for the claustrophobic!

The perfect antidote to my, ahem, overindulgence the night before, a dip in these beautiful natural pools and a bit of sunbathing sorted me right out! I was told about them by a local and promised to go, and I'm sure glad I did.

It's a cave open at both ends formed by a bubble in a lava flow. You walk down into it to find a pool in the bottom the inhabitants of which are albino crabs found only here in the entire world! As you exit you're confronted by a swimming pool that looks like an oasis in the desert, only the king is allowed to swim in it!
