What a fascinating collection of books. I'm currently researching the history of Christian-Hermetic tradition and was told to head to Amsterdam, and they were right! Wonderful place!

This is just a crazy and cool place. Would totally recommend booking on a tour (by telephone in advance) as we learned so much about who set up the library and art gallery, why, the building, and we even heard about a book bound in human skin they have there!! Thankfully we couldn't see it!

Absolutely huge and lovely beach, kept spotlessly clean. It's really quiet as well which is a bonus, and there is even a wonderful beach library for all your beachy reading needs, how civilised!

In Berlin for a study/holiday I made great use of this wonderful library and it was a total privilege to do so. Amazingly, this collection was split along with the rest of Berlin after WWII!

My mother and I really enjoyed our visit here, to the first Public Library in the US. The tour was great, really informative, and we really loved the architecture and decor. I have to say I was quite astonished by the loveliness.
