Tuesday is fabric market day at the Bodrum marketplace, and it was such a beautiful sight! I went expecting food (thursday and friday, also fabulous) but found the most amazing array of local fabrics in all the colours under the sun. I bought way too much really but now my house is festooned with a lovely turkish feel!

My girlfriends and I had an absolute blast at this market, one of the biggest in the world! Whatever you want to buy is on sale. Great fake designer items, souvenirs, food, clothes, animals... quite literally anything and everything. Go early though becuase it does get busy.

My partner and I love to wander around local markets when we are abroad and Malago market it perfect to do just that!It is primarily a food market with some of the most enticing fruit and vegetables, not to mention the well know fish and cheese sections.

A friend recommended this market to me and it certainly delivered! Held every Wednesday in the grounds of the club Punta Arabi, numerous stalls display their goods from around the world, many of which are handmade. A great spot for souvenir shopping

We stumbled across this shop in Santa Cruz which exclusively sells hand made items including ceramics, embroidery, wickerwork and textiles. This is the best place on the island to shop for authentic souvenirs.
