Maschio Angioino is a castle located in Naples, Italy. This imposing castle is surrounded by deep moats. It was built by Pierre de Chaulnes and Pierre d’ Angincourt the architects of Charles I of Anjou. It was built in the year 1282. On the townside entrances there is a remarkable embellishing triumphal arc. Its sculptures represent the glory of the House of Aragon, which was built to designs by Francesco Laurana in 1467. It is one of the masterpiece in Naples.
