Red Fort

posted by shravyareddy on 15 July 2009 at 09:42

The local name is Lal Quilla . This fort was built at time of Mugual Architecture. The Red fort can be entered from both sides the Lahore and the Delhi gates. The Red Fort in Delhi was built by Shah Jahan between 1638 and 1648. The Lal Quilla has witnessed the extravagant life styles of the royal families. The walls of the Red fort are about 2 kilometers in length. It is really good place to visit and see how the ancient buildings are built.

Humayun's Tomb

posted by Katlyn on 11 May 2009 at 04:45

Humayun's Tomb is a beautiful building with double domes, high archways and was built by Humayun's loving widow when he had an unlikely accident on the stairs of the library that brought him to an early death. He was a good and charismatic ruler and this structure set the stage for other Mughal architectural designs. Nearby, you can shop for brass wear, jewelry, Indian hand crafts, curios and clothing as well as see other burial sites.
