Basilica of Santa Maria

The oldest church in town, and the most impressive with its ornate Gothic style. I love it here and think it's the perfect drop-in place if you're feeling too hot and bothered and just want somewhere pretty to go and sit for a bit.

We were staying in this beautiful tourist resort and we had such a lovely holiday. Calm, warm water and lovely sandy beaches provided all that we needed to get relaxed and tanned.

Benjakiti Park

Part of the joy for me when on a city based holiday is to seek out the greet spots that the locals enjoy, and this is a small gem. It's dominated by a large lake but it's a great peaceful spot for a sit down or lunch. You can even take a raised walkway all the way to the next park!

My wife and I love nothing better than to spend a day in the peace of nature and watch the animals. This was the best spot we found for bird watching, and it's a beautiful day out.

I love this area of Goa, it's so chilled out and its lack of development and amenities means you're really forced into the languid way of life. Full of old hippies and the rest of the most laid back travellers you can't fail to love it here.
