Spanish Steps

I adore walking through or stopping in on the Piazza di Spagna day or night, there's always a great atmosphere, places to eat and people to watch. We even saw some sort of horse-drawn-cart ceremony last time we were catching our breath on the steps!

Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi)

posted by irishiiiiiis on 5 June 2009 at 20:42

This is a great opportunity to walk around and discover the fountain located in Trevi Square. People line the area taking pictures of the beautiful fountain created by Nicola Salvi in the 1700's. The water at the bottom of the fountain represents the sea. Legend has it you will return to Rome if you throw a coin into the water. You should toss it over your shoulder with your back to the fountain. Make sure you do it, because you will want to return to Rome.
