I always try to get to know a place by its alcohol and this was a great opportunity to sample the local beer. with a quick tour and then on to the pub there it was the perfect mix of information and beverages!

So near, yet it feels so far from Edinburgh's city centre. My partner and I came here to explore the quaint church and graveyard and to enjoy a walk by the loch. To add to all this wholesome enjoyment we also sampled a bit of the local hard stuff at the famous Sheep Heid Inn.

Only in dublin! me and my boyfriend heard about this and had to go. the combination of professional actors performing the works of joyce, wilde etc and the 'craic' of a pub crawl made for a thoroughly entertaining and surprisingly intellectual (well, at the start anyway) evening.

The Black Rose is a great spot to sample Boston's Irish roots. With folk music evenings and traditional food and beers. A well kept secret!
