The Villa Borghese is a really grand old palace, and one of the finest in Rome. There is a great collection of classical and renaissance art here but the real highlight for me were the Borghese Gardens. Especially after a long day in the heat and bustle of a day in Rome, a rowing boat on the swan lake was a very enticing prospect.

This is the place where that great Italian pass time of idling away most of the late afternoon and evening in town squares first made sense to me. The sunset on the Rameses II Obelisk is really beautiful as are the various churches dotted around the square. There are also usually musicians here in the summer which adds to the whole experience.

This is a nice spot to hang out and quite a spectacular square. Walk through at night when its lit up really impressively. There's a big fountain and statue in the middle of the square but the most interesting feature is the two enormous Venetian towers at the entrance to the Placa

I spent a lovely day here with my friends just relaxing, soaking up the sun and eating delicious things from the nearby shops. The lifeguard tower is really striking, it's traditional chinese complete with dragons! We stayed until evening and it became really calm and serene there.
