Blue Mountains

On our last trip to Sydney my wife and took a short break in the Blue Mountains which was just amazing. We took a horse riding tour which was beautiful and managed to squeeze in a super-pampering spa day too.

Therme Maris Spa

I had the best ever hamam at this lovely and relaxing spa, followed by a dip in the gorgoues thermal natural water pool. We were just passing through on a road trip getting ready to fly home and it left me with that holiday-relaxation feeling for days after, only spoilt by rain and communting.

Puerto Morelos

After a while we came to find Cancun too much and headed out to Puerto Morelos which isn't too far away. The beach was completely empty and we got a lift in a launch out to the reef where we were able to do some snorkelling which was really magical and beautiful. well worth the trip

Playa del carmen

You might come to find Cancun a little bit too much after a while. It certainly is rather hectic touristy and commercial. Playa del Carmen is a great remedy. It's not exactly 'local' and most of the shops are still tourist shops but there aren't any high rises here and none of the big chains of diners.

Palma Nova/ Magalluf

This is probably the area more for the young visitor although we couldn't help but enjoy ourselves here. its bustling and touristy but the beaches are beautiful and there's plenty to do in and plenty of watersports to take part in.
