The Traiano Lake is an artificial lake located in the Oasi di Porto. It's not that far from Rome but is relatively unknown which is great because it means that you don't really see many tourists here. the great thing about this place is that you can get a guided tour of te park in a horse drawn carriage. A perfect day trip to cool off and relax.

My boyfriend and I loved it here, the breeze off the harbourm the views, the pretty landscaping, just perfect for lunch or an afternoon stroll. I loved the flowering clock, a beautiful symbol of the geneva watch industry.

These are the largest baths in Budapest - absolutely enormous! They are located in a really grand baroque - style building and include a number of indoor and outdoor pools. They are fed by Budapest's hottest spring and frankly, I'd recommend them over the Gellert which is a bit of a tourist trap and a bit grotty. If you have a Budapest Card you get a complete refund of your money if you're in the baths for less than two hours.

The Gellert Baths are located in a really wonderful Secession building in an incredible Oriental inspired art nouveau style. ENtrance to the baths was a wee bit pricey but definitely worth it. There are steam baths and thermal baths of a variety of temperatures. You can also get a massage, although that would have cost quite a bit more.

This is a really nice spot to go walking on a sunny day, the Ballard Locks - officially the Hiram M Chittenden Locks - have locks for commercial vessels and pleasure boats and are interesting to see in opperation. If you're there in season, you'll be able to watch the salmon run up an artificial salmon ladder. There's an underwater viewing window so you can get a great view of this phenomenon. The nearby botanicalgardens are also a really nice spot to wander around.
