Getting down to the water really gives you another perspective on what makes this city tick...the waterways. You can see all sorts of things like fishermen, floating restaurants and even barges carrying all the rubbish! yum!

Great park! Amazing views of the falls-rapids of the Pontomac river and we had a lovely day out in the fresh air before back to the sightseeing schedule the next day!

Tokyo is so urbanised that it was a real treat to come and chill out in the park for a while! Pretty landscaped garden right by the river.

I just adore strolling along the left bank of the Seine, seeing Notre Dame and the two islands, feeling the arty vibe and browsing the lovely little bookshops. Go as far as you can - The Louvre across the river and the Hotel del Invalides await!

This is my top pick for places to go in the Algarve, and couldn't resist making a day trip from Faro. The Rio Gilao and its surroundings are lovely and the Ilha da Tavira is perfect for relaxing. Wonderful!
