A friend of mine who lives in Vancouver took us here and I loved it! What a talented man, he really does make the stone come alive!

I always look out for Manrique designs in the Canaries and i'd not been to this park before. Lovely setting and great sculptures, although the cactus garden is still my favourite Manrique effort.

This beautiful garden was the last work for artist Cesar Manrique and it was completed in 1991. His intention was not educational, but aesthetic and he used the semiburied volcanic monoliths for the main sculptures of the garden. Located in the area of Mala and Guatiza, the garden has about 10,000 different types of cactus and is a hot tourist site. Relax, visit the gift shop and have a terrace lunch, all while taking in the beauty of this restored volcanic quarry.

Well it is chock full of Greek and Roman antiquities. You will get to see, coins, sculptures and mosaics up the whazoo. But the really unique thing about this museum is the "Secret Cabinet" room. This room was established in the 1800s to house the unique artifacts that the good people of Pompeii, and Herculaneum left behind and it only reopened in 2000 because of its racy nature. The Secret Cabinet exhibit is basically dedicated to fornication and everything to do with it. I am not kidding. You must be at least 11 years of age to go into the "Secret Cabinet." Be prepared for an eyeful.
