One of the best places to visit in Edinburgh is the Royal Mile. It is one of the better shopping districts in the city, with tons of historic churches, wonderful restaurants, and one of a kind shopping. When night falls, there are also ghost walks and lively bars to provide lots of entertainment.

Melrose Avenue is a shopper’s paradise. It has a strip of vintage and eclectic stores where you can find just about anything you wish for. You can shop side by side with celebrities who consider Melrose Avenue to be a mecca for unique apparel. You can also take a break at one of the many restaurants and cafes that line the street. Get a quick bite to eat before heading back for more shopping.

At the Blarney Woolen Mills you will be able to find every kind of authentic Irish gift there is. Waterford, Belleek China, Irish linens, Irish music, books vintage lace and wool clothing. Just remember that true Aran sweaters are hand knitted, not hand loomed. You will see the difference in prices and in quality if you put the two side by side. There are a few Blarney Woolen Mills stores located thru out Ireland. The Dublin store is across the street from Trinity College and is open 7 days a week.

On Sunday mornings you will find a Flea Market that is huge and diverse. Avoid the tourist trap shops that are the same everywhere, but then you get to the really interesting finds - everything from antiques on down the line. This "market" goes on indefinitely it seems. It is a look into the greek culture and you will probably see some gypsies and other interesting people. It's a lively atmosphere. Prepare to spend the day & wear comfortable shoes!

The Yumbo Centre is a large shopping mall on Gran Canaria, but so much more. It is full of shops, but also some great restaurants and bars. You can find something at the Yumbo Centre every night you are on vacation and never do the same thing twice. Lots of gay friendly places, with review shows that will have you rolling on the floor.
