A delight to see this famous statue in its home at the Church of Our Lady Victorious.

We didn't book our tickets in advance so we had no choice but to just look up and the great lady, but it was really cool just to be there. If you want to see the views you'll have to be organised so make sure you book ahead!

It's what you think of when you imagine going to New York and it's really sweet to finally get up close to the lady. I knew she was tall, but really, she's HUGE! We climbed up to the top of the crown and were exhausted but exhilarated. RESERVE TICKETS IN ADVANCE, we spoke to quite a few disappointed people who'd wanted to go up but hadn't sorted it our beforehand.

There are so many fantstic things to see in Cairo, and particularly at the Egyptian Museum but the sheer size of this statue, and the fact that it had to be cut into pieces to move in 1882, 3000 years after it was made, is just astonishing. Those Egyptians were smart.

My man and me loved coming to this square for a sit, to watch to world go by, and to visit 'El Oso y El Madrono', the bear eating fruit from a tree. Great place to go at the start of the day and plan your sights as it's near loads of things and the atmosphere is really great.
