This park by the White House is quite fun! You're by the National Mall, you can see the White House and there are some statues etc around as well. Our favourite lunch spot.

I was only in Paris for a fleeting visit so I went to hang around the Louvre but was too late to really get any use out of going in, and explored the gardens instead. What a lovely place to spend a couple of hours!

Consisting of a huge memorial wall and 19 statues of troops, this is a haunting and powerful memorial and remains my most vivid enduring memory from my trip to Washington.

Gorgeous statues and such lovely places, it's just so interesting to watch people come and visit and see what the customs are. Best to go Thursday night when the Trimurti deity helps lovelorn red-wearing singles.

Paris is full of lovely things but this bridge is one of my favourites, not only does it connect my favourite places, the Hotel des Invalides and the Grand and Petit Palaces but it's so wide and beautifully decorated that it's a pleasure to go to.
