La Mansion is a steak house located outside the NH Krystal hotel. It's feature is steak cooked on an open wood flame. It is a fine dining setting with a low cost menu. You have the option of hand picking your cuts and they are grilled to your preference to perfection. They also feature an amazing desert cart and you also get a complementary "welcome drink" which you can choose between a house margarita or house wine. One highlight of the restaurant is their Caesar Salad, which the dressing is made from scratch right in front of you and it's cost was around 4 US dollars (at the time). They also offer seafood and paste dishes, plus some non meat meals. I ate here for my 24th b-day and spent less than $25 dollars on: a filet, side, caesar salad, and a 18 year old scotch for desert. The staff is very friendly and they're always present to fulfill any requests.

With Los Angeles being so health conscious, sometimes it is hard to find a good steak. That is why whenever I visit I head over to Steakhouse 55. It is a very elegant atmosphere, and offers one of the most romantic ambiances around. The service is always top notch, and very attentive.

Although many New Yorkers consider Peter Luger in Brooklyn to be the best steakhouse in New York City, I would have to disagree. Keens makes dry aged steaks that rival Luger's any day, and their house specialty, the mutton chop, is one of a kind. Keens also has so much history behind it...it was originally the pub and hangout for actors and theater folk working in the theater upstairs, and Lily Langtry famously broke the gender barrier by being the first woman to successfully demand to be allowed to dine here. Take note of the tobacco pipes lining the restaurant and hanging from the ceilings. They belonged to a wealth of significant clients like former statesmen and celebrities. I recommend that anyone who comes here try the Porterhouse. It's unbelievable.
