Known as the heart of literary Madrid this was my favourite spot in the city. You can just sit on one of the lovely cafes or bars, read and watch the world go by it's just perfect. Don't forget to hang about for tapas too!!

Metro Sol or Anton Martin but you've got a bit of a walk from either

Lovely caves and the sound and light effects are really cool, they certainly entertained the kids! Don't forget to stop by Sant Miquel afterwards there's not a bad thing to eat there.

Eco Tour Farmara (Local Charms)

posted by mbrice on 19 January 2011 at 11:56

Although i'm not a fan of tours it seemed the best way to see a little more of the island without the hassle of hiring a car. We chose an eco tour from the village of Famara where I was blown away by the beauty of the beach and the delicious tapas (although the health products they sold weren't that great), then onto the Cesar Manrique Foundation and finally a drive into the wine region for some tasting. Great day out.

where, when, how, web
We got picked up from our hotel, although others on the tour had had to make their own way there.

Australian tapas is not something I would have normally tried - I dont even know what it really is! however this tapas parlour in Bondi offered a fantastic variety of curious nibbles that were all yummy! It has a trendy young vibe and is decorated in a cool eclectic way.

This restuarant is cool and trendy despite its size. The food is well presented and the atmosphere is friendly.
